Gold Bullion
Gold bullion refers to pure gold in the form of gold bars or ingots. It is a mass of precious metal. In simple terms, it refers to uncoined gold or silver. The most popular size of bullion is the kilo bar which weighs 32. 15 troy ounces. There are pure gold especially for investment which can be converted into gold coins or gold bars. Bullion refers to the pure form of precious metals like gold, silver, copper or platinum which are converted into coin metals or alloys. There are U.S coins which are specially made for investment purpose. They are not meant for circulation.

The major gold trading centers are London, Zurich and New York where the future of the gold trading is based. The monetary reserves of central banks are mostly kept in gold bullion.

There is also gold bullion standard which is a monetary standard. According to this standard the national unit of currency is defined in terms of stated gold weight. Generally gold is preserved by the government in the form of bars instead of coins and other forms.
