Fund ManagerOn a day-to-day basis the "life" of a mutual fund is orchestrated by the fund manager. This investment professional is the individual responsible for mapping an investment strategy for the fund developed in concert with a staff of researchers and analysts. Based on this information, the fund manager buys and sells assets to keep the performance of the fund in line with the stated goals of the investment strategy.Typically fund managers are individuals with a considerable record of high performance in the trading of securities.
